On Saturday 30th January 2016 we had our Winter Wellbeing Festival at Connaught Hall, Attleborough. The Festival Crew met every fortnight for months to organise it and over 50 organisations and different people showcased what they do. The festival was FREE but we invited people to make donations for the Food Bank; or bring wool and knitting needles for Shawl Hugs, a group who knit shawls for people going through tough times.

We created a Welcome Book which you can download by clicking this link:  ABCD Winter Wellbeing Festival Welcome Book  It’s got timetables of everything that happened, a map of the hall and a list of everyone who did something on the day. You can also find a summary of what happened on our News Page

You can see loads of fabulous photos from the Festival on our Photo Pages.  Andrew Day from Equal Media filmed the festival for us. You can see a selection of his movies at https://vimeo.com/channels/1021084/videos and you can watch his “Mashup” below.

Paul McCluskey, our Easy Read Reporter took notes at the workshops and created this fabulous report: ABCD Festival Report 1st Feb 2016

We worked hard to make sure the event was accessible and inclusive to all. We chose a venue that was wheelchair accessible, had accessible toilets and lots of parking. We produced our Welcome Book in large print and braille. We had a buddies scheme – if you needed extra support you could ask at the Help Desk and we’d find you a Festival Connector – someone to help you find your way round the festival and connect you to others. We gave our speakers guidance on making their workshops as accessible as possible. We produced a rich and diverse programme of activities so as many people as possible felt there was something for them. We developed a Wellbeing Plan to make sure everyone was safe on the day.

Here’s a special version of our poster we created for people to download and mindfully colour in….
